According to News Health, Bayer just received the approval from Health Canada for Stayxxn a new erectile dysfunction treatment. Bayer has successfully developed a drug for ED that dissolves on the tongue and works for up to 8 hours and has far fewer side effects than the traditional ED medication.

After ten years in the research phase Bayer was able to develop a drug that is cheaper and easier to use than other ED medications that are on the market. This can really improve the life of many men in their 30's, 40's and 50's.

Dr. Gerald Brock Professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Urology at St. Josephs Health Centre in London Ontario talked about ED in younger populations Physicians are seeing younger and younger men that have ED without any of the medical causes related to ED like hypertension or diabetes, stress is usually the trigger. Health Canada has rules that are a bit more lax when it comes too approving drugs. The FDA will approve this drug for the American population but it may take a couple of more years to convince them of the value.

At this point health insurance will not cover this medication because it is not FDA approved, so American men will have to wait just a bit longer to be able to take this breakthrough drug.
